Myriad Prediction Market Embraces Full On-Chain Data Storage
Prediction market platform Myriad has announced a strategic partnership with Walrus, a decentralized data storage layer, marking a significant step toward becoming a fully on-chain protocol. The integration will see Myriad’s market artifacts stored immutably on the developer platform, creating tamper-proof records with applications spanning DeFi and artificial intelligence.
Building Trust Through Immutable Records
The partnership represents a fundamental shift from Myriad’s previous hybrid storage model that combined decentralized and cloud storage. According to Ilan Hazan, co-founder and COO of Myriad, this integration ensures “every market artifact across Myriad is now stored immutably and verifiably on-chain, ensuring tamper-proof, publicly auditable provenance.”
Enhanced Transparency and Auditability
Rebecca Simmonds, Managing Executive at Walrus, emphasized the importance of this transition for establishing user trust and regulatory compliance. “They are tamper proof and they are a record of exactly what happened, what the outcome was, what was paid out—and that is there for time immemorial and cannot be changed,” she explained.
Applications in DeFi and AI Ecosystems
The on-chain data storage creates valuable opportunities for both decentralized finance and artificial intelligence applications. Simmonds noted that AI models can consume verified price feeds and evidence sets, while DeFi protocols can reference these proofs for collateralizing positions or triggering automated payouts.
Expanding the Data Utility Frontier
The partnership builds on existing relationships within the ecosystem, including Walrus’s collaboration with Decrypt Media earlier this year that created an “immutable public archive of journalism.” Myriad will also explore integration with other elements of the Sui stack, including dedicated secrets management platforms.
Future Integration Opportunities
Hazan highlighted the broader vision behind the partnership: “Together, Myriad and Walrus are building the infrastructure for a more open and accountable web—one where data, trust, and ownership belong to users.” This collaboration advances Myriad’s mission to realign incentives in the media ecosystem through transparent, on-chain operations.
The Value of Verified Market Data
Simmonds described the stored prediction market data as “the purest form of a poll you can get,” noting that “you’ve got this wonderful record of people putting money behind their opinions.” This verified data opens doors for sophisticated analysis by AI systems, government policymakers, and researchers seeking to understand collective thinking patterns.
